COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS IN AND FOR THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA

Since 1985 Jeannette Lindsay has been a Commissioner For Oaths, In And For The Province Of Alberta, meaning that she can witness your oath about the document(s) she commissions. Commissioning a document is a legal step required by the courts to authenticate a document as being true. There are legal ramifications for anyone swearing a document that is not true.

Only documents that stay within Alberta can be commissioned. Documents that are going outside of Alberta will likely need to be notarised, which requires a Notary Public, usually a lawyer.

Cost to commission a document at Telexperts-The Ship Centre is $5.00 per document.

Items that can NOT be Commissioned:

• Passport applications - Federal government document, even though it may be processed in Alberta.
• Inter-Provincial documents - Those documents leaving Alberta.
• International documents - Those documents leaving Canada.
